Managing Director’s Welcoming Event

June 1 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

By invitation only.

We shall be hosting a very special event for Patrons and Volunteers at Bridge Point, Rye, the new International centre for conceptual and creative arts on Saturday 1st June. Patrons and Volunteers will be able to meet with me – Ian Roberts, your newly appointed Managing Director of The Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition and hear about plans for our International Piano Festival in 2020. If you would like to become a Friend or Patron and join us at this very special event, then sign up HERE.

Your potential support of one of the UK’s premier classical music events, is paramount for the success of our future festival and competition, and I wanted to personally invite you to consider joining our organisation. This event will be an opportunity to hear views on our exciting plans for the next two years. My experience in the music and arts industry over the past 20 years has led me to believe that Hastings is a gem in the British cultural landscape, and with your help, I believe The Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition and our new piano festival can create a programme of community engagement, as well as free and affordable tickets, which all contribute to the music education of young audiences.
I intend to create a festival that celebrates the piano through a broad-range of music concerts that existing and new supporters can enjoy, with an emphasis on world-class artists and ensembles.

It is exciting that we can celebrate our past achievements and future plans at the new multi-genre creative arts centre at Bridge Point, Rye. Patrons and Volunteers will have the opportunity to enjoy a private view of The Hastings Tapestry, a 275 ft long embroidery commissioned by The Royal School of Needlework in 1965 to celebrate the 900th anniversary of The Battle of Hastings. Bridge Point, Rye is tipped to become a centre for excellence in the creative arts, and the immersive display of this tapestry reflects the creative DNA that continues to drive success throughout the Hastings cultural community.

I look forward to welcoming you to our organisation and meeting you in person.
