We are delighted to announce the 2017 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition Winner: 23 year old Kenneth Broberg from Plymouth, Minnesota.

Kenneth won the competition with a commanding rendition of the rarely perfomed Gershwin Piano Concerto in F.
We hope to have him back perfoming in Hastings later in the year.

He is one of only thirty contestants to be accepted for the prestigious 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas at the end of May and we wish him well in his next competition.

Our six finalists performed to record breaking crowds on Friday and Saturday. An enthusiastic reception was given to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra who accompanied our finalists. The RPO has not performed in Hastings for over thirty years.

The RPO throughly enjoyed their visit to Hastings and were very impressed with the standard of the contestants.
The 2018 Competition will run from February 22nd to March 3rd. We encourage you to attend the early stages and in particular the semi final, which is a riveting selection of own choice repertoire.

This year’s masterclass took place on the stage at the White Rock Theatre for the first time, and was especially enjoyed. We would like to thank our Jury of International Pianists- Frank Wibaut , Robert Palmer, Olivier Gardon, Bernd Goetzke, Ewa Poblocka, Deniz Arman Gelenbe and Aquiles Delle Vigne.

Please also mark your calenders for our fundraising Gala Night of Dinner and Dancing on July 1st at Fairlight Hall, hosted by BBC and Classic FM Presenter Bill Turnbull, featuring a range of music including a recital by a 2017 HIPCC Prizewinner. More details HERE

We hope to see you next year!
